A heritage learner may recognize familiar expressions while hesitating to build a new sentence. A classroom learner may read the Armenian script carefully but need more listening speed. Glottie's current Armenian target is contemporary Eastern Armenian as used in Armenia. It is labeled explicitly because Eastern and Western Armenian are meaningful varieties and learners should know which one they are practising before they invest time.
The first situations focus on useful daily, family, and social exchanges. Grammar such as case marking belongs inside communicative practice: the learner hears a useful form, tries it in context, and later meets it again in a changed situation.
Turn family familiarity into active conversation
Recognition is valuable evidence, but it is not the same as durable spoken control. Glottie keeps useful phrases, recurring struggles, and completed situations attached to the learner's Armenian path so the next conversation can ask for a slightly more independent response.
